Ben, Jos and Phil are up in Hereford shooting a short film. Big thanks to our mate Harry, who’s kindly hosting them and the shoot in his lovely pub, the Bulls Head. Of course all this means watch this space for more Asylum stuff soon!
To reuse an already overly used metaphor, Asylum have been Swanning about recently. Whilst to all appearances we’ve been serenely gliding along (!), beneath it all we’ve been working frantically. Lots of maybe projects in the offing at the moment. So whilst we can’t reveal anything exciting at the moment….. keep your fingers crossed for us and watch this space!

Ben, Jos, Phil and Ed headed down to the BFI on the southbank yesterday for onedotzero’s closing night. It was a great night and really flattering to see This Is Where We Live up on the big screen with such a great collection of films. We got to meet some talented fellow film makers (Max Hattler and Chris Gavin) and Phil and Ed got to watch Ben and Jos’ first ever live interview on stage! All in all a brilliant day. Many thanks to Shane Walter, Jo Shallow and the team for looking after us and the opportunity to attend.
We have just finished an iPhone application demo video for Enhanced Editions. They’ve created a wicked app that lets you read a book on your iPhone using all the intuative interaction stuff that goes along with the phone. The first title is Nick Cave’s Bunny Monro. Imagine reading the book, listening to a sound track by Nick himself, then switching seamlessly to Nick reading the book to you when you get up to leave the tube…..actually watch the video it’ll do a much better job of explaining it!

So, we’ve decided to enter E4’s sting competition this year. Heres a sneak preview photo smuggled from set.

A quick update to say This Is Where We Live has been accepted to be shown at both onedotzero at the BFI and Rushes - Soho Shorts Festival. We’re over the moon, and remain gratefully chuffed that this film of ours has captured so many peoples imaginations.
So, as mentioned earlier, we got to go to Annecy with This Is Where We Live. It’s basically the animation section that split off from Cannes and is now held in a very beautiful French town near Geneva.
Ben, Jordan and Ed managed to make it down and it was an amazing experience. We went to meet people and to party a little bit. I reckon we did pretty well with both! Unfortunately we didn’t win the catagory in which we entered (Comissioned Films), the BBC’s April Fools iPlayer ad with flying penguins did, but it was a real honour to be nominated and to take part in the event.
